Jump Start Your Dreams

If you think that vision boards are just for people who are unmotivated or unambitious, then you are missing out on a tool that may just transform your personal and professional life. Vision boards may be simple, but they are undeniably effective. No matter what it is that you are manifesting, vision boards are an easy and tangible way to bring your goals and dreams into fruition. All you really need are dreams that really motivate you, photos, some positive affirmations and a little cork.

Why Vision Boards?

One of the biggest challenges that many  people struggle with is how they can focus their thoughts and their ambitious in a more organized way. When you are a true “go-getter” it may seem like there are millions of dreams, desires, thoughts and ideas circling around in your head at any given moment.

Vision boards act as a funnel to help focus some of the bigger thoughts and ideas and to get them organized in one individual and inspiring board. The reason that these boards work so well and why they are so popular is because they harness the power of the visualization forms of mental exercise out there.

Visualization can be the difference between being ambitious enough to want something and actually following through. Visualization brings an extra sense of motivation as it helps you feel, visualize and imagine not only what you want to achieve, but your life once you have achieved that goal. The board acts to inspire you to move towards the goals that you have for yourself. It helps you stay on track and stay focused and act as a reminder for what you are working towards each and every day. It can be the difference between what you are doing on a daily basis to make your long-term goals a reality.

Getting a Jump Start on Your Dream

One of the biggest reasons that so many people today are relying on vision boards and doing so with great success is because they provide a type of “jump start” in reaching your goals. Every person knows the old adage that taking the first step is the hardest, and there is a great deal of truth to that, especially when it comes to working towards big dreams.

You may know that you want to open up your own store someday but it can seem like such a distant dream that you have no idea where or how to start, because that dream seems so big. A vision board is your jumping off point.

If you don’t even know where to start or where to begin with a big, long-term goal, make a vision board. It will turn that thought or wish that you have into a real goal and a real vision and it will start bringing that sense of inspiration into your life each and every day so you can get closer and closer to the life that you want. Your vision board gives you that first little push and it can help you create a map towards achieving your dreams, for the truly ambitious many times this is all they need to start digging in and doing the work towards making those dreams a reality.

Vision Boards

A Focus on Feeling

A vision board provides a unique benefit because it focuses on feelings and emotions. When you complete a vision board correctly it touches not only upon the material things that you want for your future but on how you want to feel. This is why vision boards should not only include pictures but affirmations and inspirational words as well.

Ambitious people can attest to, working hard to achieve a goal typically isn’t the challenge. This is why so many ambitious people have already achieved so much. What can be challenging is finding a more emotional connection to that which they want to achieve. Bringing in feeling and emotion can only enhance an already-ambitious person’s work ethic and ability to achieve what they have always wanted.

Vision boards push people outside their comfort zone, they help put dreams into reality and they give people the strength to push past nay-sayers and negativity and to start putting the positivity in their lives that they need to achieve their goals. Chances are you already have the drive and ambition, let the vision board bring the right feelings into the mix.

Keeping Hard Workers on Track

If you are an ambitious person by nature, then hard work likely isn’t your problem. However, there is one drawback that some ambitious people face when it comes to reaching their long-term goals. When you aren’t afraid to go after what you want, sometimes, your long term goals can fall by the wayside of what is in front of you.

A vision board  can help remind you of the big, important, long-term visions for your future and help you remember that the things you are doing now in your day-to-day life are really helping you work towards this bigger vision you have for yourself for the future.

Putting the Right Energy into Your Future

A vision board can be the manifestation tool that any ambitious person needs to make some of their real big goals come true. These boards are about who you want to be as a person and what you want to do and have. The promotion, the car and the big house you have always wanted for yourself have always been there, but creating a vision board about these things helps you visualize your life with these things in them.

Seeing these things and picturing yourself with these things helps you give them more attention on a regular basis, so that you intentionally and unintentionally put more energy into bringing them into fruition. It is a simple philosophy and an even simpler approach but it can be just the secret weapon every ambitious person needs to bring even more success, positivity and good fortune to their lives.

GIVING

Can you put your love and care or inspiration and gifts into action through giving in some way?

Is there someone in particular you’ve been withholding love or giving from, or you could express more of your love to in some way? Or have you been shying away from life in general and not sharing your gifts, presence or love in some way? Have you been ‘too busy’ and not found the time for those people who matter to you? The greatest gift you have to give people is YOU! Are you giving you? Are you there for people?

There are many ways you can give and share. Do so in a way that brings you joy and does not feel like a sacrifice, as that is not what true giving is about.

What’s important here is that this giving is genuine and heartfelt. Not talking about martyr-hood or obligation here. I’m talking about sharing and expressing your love and care in a way that feels meaningful to you, which is a blessing to others, as well as yourself.

Giving when your heart isn’t in it, or giving-to-get (which isn’t giving at all), or giving out of a feeling of duty or obligation is also not authentic giving, and the person at the ‘receiving end’ won’t feel really like they’ve been given to, as what is received most is the energy and intention behind the giving. That’s why even the smallest act or gift can have the biggest impact if coming from a loving place.

Get in touch with the love and care you have for someone and act from this place.

Let your abundance shine by giving to others, not just in the tangible physical sense, but by giving of who you are and expressing your love, appreciation and gratitude to those around you. You can give in energy, in your thoughts, blessings and well-wishes too, and send love from a distance, silently even.

There are many ways you can give, and it’s certainly not money-bound.

You can give of your time, appreciation, care, well wishes, talent, prayers, nurturing, inspirations, attention, information, touch, wisdom, hope, support, thoughts, blessings, and so on. You may also want to give some of your income away, such as through tithing 10% to a charity each month if you feel financially comfortable to do so.

Give in a way that feels true to you.

You Get What You Expect, So Raise Your Standards

You Get What You ask For

Everything starts with a thought.

A thought is an energy. Energy wants to manifest itself. A lot of thoughts in

the same direction will, that’s for sure, manifest in the real world.

This is the process of creation. Start thinking positive thoughts.

Spring is literally around the corner…REST now.

You are used to pushing yourself to get things done, and while that can be productive, it can also wear you out if you do it all the time. Spring, bringing with it, the seeds of change and growth

So take these last cold days to refuel on rest and inspiration.

It’s actually healthier right now to give yourself a break and help your body replenish. TCM practitioners recommend you sleep more, eat and drink warm nourishing foods, and expose yourself to inspiring art or books.  Take the time to refill and restore your body, mind, and spirit. Give yourself permission to rest  so you can gather the energy you will need for spring.  Provide yourself inspiration from Art, Music, Food, whatever sparks that light inside yourself.

We are coming out of the most yin of the seasons: In the Chinese System, yin energy is female in nature and more sustaining, while yang energy is characterized by being more masculine and active. In our bodies the organs fed by yang meridians have periods when they are very active then at rest; the stomach fills with food, processes it then releases it to the next organ; the gallbladder, bladder, small and large intestines also have similar activity patterns.

The organs associated with the yin meridians work constantly. These meridians and their associated organs are the ones in our systems to get drained and depleted first, as they are the ones that process environmental toxins, balance our hormones, and they are the meridians from which energy gets pulled when we are under emotional stress—just as a mother and wife is often responsible for multitasking and managing the care of the children, and the household operations 24/7. Our heart, liver, kidney, spleen, and lungs work round the clock to keep us alive.

Everything contains yin and yang, the two opposite, yet complementary energies.

Yin and yang cannot exist without the other; they are never separate. For example, night and day form a yin-yang pair (night is yin and day is yang). Night looks and is very different from day, yet it is impossible to have one without the other. Both create a totality, a complete whole.

Without rest, you can’t be productive!

Law Of Attraction HERE To Help You

The law of attraction is easily the most amazing law in the universe, as what we think about really is what we begin to bring about. It’s easy to underestimate just how powerful a law like that can be, because thinking is something we do all the time, isn’t it?

Here’s 3 reminders about The Law of Attraction

1. What you keep thinking about is what you will bring about

So, be mindful of your habitual patterns of thinking as they can have a massive influence on the trajectory of your life.

2. Take time every day to bless the things you have

As the saying goes, “for those that have, more will be given” – and this is a spiritual law which emphasises the importance of coming from a position of abundance instead of lack. If we bless the things we have, they appreciate and become even better. So, start blessing your bank account, your family, your job, your home, your car, your friends and everything that matters to you…and watch them improve and get better 🙂

3. Imagine ONLY things as you want it to be, for 5-10 minutes every day

What this does is it will create a pattern interrupt in your habits of thinking. This is important for sending new suggestions to your subconscious mind, so things can start to change in your life from the inside out.

Find Your Rhythm

Patience

There is a rhythm and pace to life. If we push too hard against it with impatience, expectations and demands, it doesn’t serve us.

Yes, you create your reality, but there is a bigger picture, and there can be optimum times for certain events to occur, or a series of steps and inner changes that may be appropriate to occur first to facilitate a manifestation, which you may not be consciously aware of. These can help lay foundation, be it practically, mentally, emotionally, etc.

The moon waxes and wanes, night follows day, seasons change. Just as nature has a rhythm to it, so do you and your life. There are ebbs and flows of energy occurring in your being and life. There are optimum times to reap, plant and sow, etc. Obviously, choice is always yours for the taking, and life always yours for the making! This message is about the qualities of patience in that dance of creation.

Be sensitive to the flow of energy and times in your life, and patient where needed. Baby steps can lead to monumental change. Rushing isn’t always productive. In fact, time often slows down when you do!

Keep momentum, but allow life to have cadence, allow yourself to pause, give yourself permission to rest and recharge when necessary, to reflect, pause and ponder, and spur forward when you feel called, etc.

Listen to your heart and your body regarding when to act and when not to, and be patient with the movement of events in your life. Do your bit physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually (desire, dream, open to inspiration, believe, act, open to receive, etc.), and trust things are turning in your favor as you move towards your visions and goals. Don’t try to force or control things, be positive and expectant, but relaxed, open, trusting and patient.

Take having a conversation with someone, as an example. There are times to listen, and times to speak. There are times to pause. There are magic moments when eyes meet and feelings flicker and speak beyond words. There is a movement, a dance. Just as you pay attention in conversation and are sensitive and patient with this flow of movement, be so in all areas of your life. Listen to your intuition and what your expanded wise self wants to share about the movement, changes, initiations and instigations in your life.

Being patient is about changing gears when and where necessary, and allowing life to move in accordance and harmony with divine will; to weave your life co-creatively with the universe.

Natures’ Hormone-Balancing Drink

Why are hormones balance so important? Well, they’re the rapid-fire communication system the body uses to manage multiple organ systems and processes. So for anyone who’s ever had their email crash in the middle of a workweek, you can understand how disruptions in a communication pathway can result in a lot of systems failing or even falling apart.

Of the entire endocrine system, it seems our toxic and environmental burden has the strongest effect on five important hormones: cortisol, insulin, estrogen, dihydrotestosterone, and thyroid hormone.

Disruption in these messaging molecules can results in acne, weight gain, infertility, hair loss, irregular periods, and the list goes on.

5 Hormone Imbalances

1. Estrogen

Estrogen aka the female hormone. When we see this hormone in excess, we develop the unwelcomed symptoms of bloating, breast tenderness, and irregular periods in women, and infertility + erectile dysfunction in men. Toxic burden has shown to slow down the metabolism of estrogen, leading to bodily excesses.

2. Insulin

Insulin aka the sugar police. This hormone controls the level of sugar in the blood and cells, and too much can cause the cells of our body to develop resistance, leading to a sluggish metabolism, and imbalances of all the other important hormones we mentioned. Because insulin is one of the body’s “major” hormones, it becomes almost impossible for the body to manage all other hormones when insulin goes rouge.

3. Cortisol

Cortisol aka the stress hormone. This hormone causes havoc when there’s too much, as well as too little. Over production leads to blood sugar elevation, causing weight gain, fatigue, and in some cases, fatty liver disease. A lack of cortisol develops from long-term stress and is associated with exhaustion, cravings, weakened immune system, and intolerance to exercise, just to name a few.

4. Dihydrotestosterone

Dihydrotestosterone aka the kingpin of the androgens. This hormone is the most potent version of testosterone and results in male patterned baldness, gynecomastia, prostate enlargement, acne, and male-patterned hair growth in females when in excess.

5. Thyroid Hormone

Thyroid hormone is the ruler of metabolism. Your thyroid hormones control the rate at which you grow, as well as the rate at which your body burns fuel. Deficiencies lead to weight gain, extreme fatigue, bowel irregularity, and dry, brittle nails and hair.

How Stinging Nettle Can Help You Balance Hormones

While changing diet and lifestyle is a given when trying to reduce your toxic burden, there is one simple drink you can make each day to help kick start the process. The herb is called Stinging Nettle, or in it’s Latin binomial, Urtica dioica.

While you may find its roots and leaves in tincture preparations, the aqueous (aka water solution) components in its leaves are the ingredients we want in this case.

Stinging Nettle has some excellent research on hormone support, as its been shown to be a moderate aromatase and reductase inhibitor, meaning is slowed down the enzymes that convert testosterones into estrogens and dihydrotestosterone. Hence, it has has been shown to support acne, amenorrhea, prostate enlargement, PCOS, and all related androgen excess conditions.

While more research is still needed, Stinging Nettle is also said to stimulate hair growth, reduce blood sugar and improve insulin resistance in diabetics, ad provide relief from water retention – all symptoms of hormone imbalances. Furthermore, Stinging Nettle contains ingredients such as serotonin and acetylcholine, which offset the hard effects of stress on the adrenals.

It’s also a rich source of minerals like zinc, magnesium, potassium, and iron, which means a long steeping process is necessary to pull out all the good stuff.

Here’s how to prepare it (the prep time is minimal, but the steep time is lengthy)…

The Hormone-Balancing Drink

Materials Needed:

  • Dried loose nettle leaves (not root) – in my experience, the fresher the leaves, the better the flavor
  • 1 L water
  • Large glass container with cover

Directions:

  1. Bring 1 liter of water to a boil
  2. Pour over 1/2 cup of dried nettle leaves in glass container
    1. Cover tightly and allow infusing for 4-10 hours (recommended overnight) at room temperature
    2. Consume 1 L of infusion throughout the day. You can reheat it and mix with some almond milk for a latte like infusion, or drink it with a touch of honey for a refreshing cold beverage.
  3. Added Tip: I usually recommend making 2-3 days worth at one time, remembering the ratio to of 1/2 cup leaves to 1 L of water. Store the leftover infusion in the fridge for up to 3 days. It’ll save you some effort in the long run.

Note: you should not drink this tea if you’re pregnant, as it has been shown to stimulate uterine contractions. However, if you’re having a hard time dropping milk to breastfed, drink up, as stinging nettle also promotes lactation.
